"Amarantine" is an album by Enya. The album was released on November 22, 2005. It won the Grammy Award for Best New Age Album for 2007 and is the third top selling new age album of the 2000s in the USA, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The release date was announced by Roma Ryan on September 23, 2005, at the official Enya forum. It was subsequently leaked to the Internet on November 11, 2005.
Two songs from the album were released as singles: the title track "Amarantine" and "It's in the Rain". "Someone Said Goodbye" was released as a promotional single in the USA as well. The album was very successful and sold more than 6.5 million copies overall. The success of the album kept it for 9 months and 2 weeks (38 weeks, from 10 Dec 2005 to 26 Aug 2006) in the No. 1 spot of the Billboard New Age Albums chart.
