Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo and was released by Warner Music and Reprise Records on November 22, 2010. The group has stated that there is a strong influence of the cinema on the disk. Like its predecessor, The Black Parade (2006), involved the production of Rob Cavallo.
Disc recordings took more than a year, a period in which more than thirty-six songs were recorded, most of which were discarded because the band felt that they weren't a contribution to the genre. The final edition of the album and its music videos have a theme set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic California in 2019 (like the movie Blade Runner), in where few outsiders called Killjoys fight against an evil corporation that controls the population. The band has said that this idea is a metaphor for the things that happened during the disk creation. Unlike their previous albums, the group has stated that Danger Days is not a concept album, although there are critics who believe that it is.
The promotional tour for the album was The World Contamination Tour, which lasted from October 2010 to February 2012, and watched concerts in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. Its reception in the market won her debut at the top of the U.S. charts Rock Albums and Alternative Albums from Billboard, and Issue 8 of Billboard 200, also appeared in the music charts in several other countries. In February 2011, Danger Days has sold over one million copies worldwide.
