Eternal Flame: The Best of the Bangles serves as yet another great introduction to the group and a fine place to revel in nostalgia, but still doesn't quite cover the ground a really great compilation of the band could. It is essentially the exact same collection Columbia released in 1990 but with the track listing jumbled around a bit with "My Side of the Bed" and the stupid inclusion of the 14-minute "Bangles Hits Mix (Medley)," which is fortunately at the end, added to the track list. Since the Bangles consistently put out A-grade material, really the most basic collection of their work is bound to be good, and Eternal Flame: The Best of the Bangles is certainly above average, but the case could be made for a more exhaustive collection from Columbia instead of reissuing virtually the same set with different artwork.
