Read My Lips is the debut solo album released by the British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor released on 27 August 2001 by Polydor Records. The album produced four singles, including the international success "Murder on the Dancefloor", usually known as Ellis-Bextor's signature song, and her biggest hit as well. The album was released to mixed reaction from the media, with some saying that even though there were some standouts, they thought that the record failed to live up to the standard set by the previous collaboration with Spiller, "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)".
