Booka Shade are a German House duo made up of Amo Kammermeier and Walter Merziger. They are known as veterans of the Frankfurt electronic music scene. They have released four albums to date: Movements, Memento, The Sun & the Neon Light and More!. Booka Shade started their career in much the same way as Underworld (they were a mainly overlooked early nineties synth pop duo) until they started producing club tunes. Their releases then started to appear on imprints like Harthouse and R&S Records. In 2002 the duo started their own label, Get Physical Records, along with M.A.N.D.Y and DJ T. Their 2005 singles ‘Body Language’ and ‘Mandarine Girl’ have received widespread play in nightclubs and also featured on various licensed mix CDs. In 2006 Booka Shade were featured in Radio 1’s Essential Mix. ‘Body Language’ has been used as a sample in the Will.i.am in the tune ‘Get Your Money’. It also features in the video game Forza Motorsport 2 for Xbox 360.
