Forever Still is a completely honest and emotional in-your-face heavy rock band with no excuses. The band’s wide array of brooding beats, atmospheric electronic textures, and lunging guitar riffs compliment vocal powerhouse Maja Schønning’s emotionally revealing lyrics, which range from breathy and beautiful singing to scathing and aggressive screams. Formed in Copenhagen, Denmark by Maja Schønning and Mikkel Haastrup, the band has built a large following via their feverish social network presence and over the top live shows. In 2013 the band released their debut EP “Breaking Free” to critical acclaim by the press: “When you think of female fronted rock bands, you think of Evanescence, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, and Halestorm, now it’s time to add Forever still to that group.” – Black Rose Radio The band went on to tour Scandinavia and returned to the studio in 2014 to record the first of 3 EP’s that will eventually be adding up to a full-length concept album about a suppressed individual struggling through depression, anxiety, and worthlessness fighting to get well while getting stronger in the process. But if they don’t have the money right now, they can take it, share it and, if they love it, come back and kick in later. Co-founder Mikkel Haastrup is a trained recording engineer by no other than Flemming “Metallica” Rasmussen and has worked with Denmark’s best selling artists. This makes the band capable of delivering extremely high quality studio recordings and be fully in charge of their own unique sound. Besides having taken on writing, recording, and mixing the music themselves, the band also create their own music videos and art, all together giving a completely honest representation of the musicians behind it. Furthermore the band is self managed and booking their own tours as well as caring for their fast growing online community pushing the word “DIY” to a whole new level. Having recently returned from their latest tour the band is now back in the studio finishing the last part of their debut album and will be heading back out on the road this fall.
