Blending percussive electro-pop and smooth, yearning vocals, HUNTAR is the performance alias of a British musician who's made an effort to remain anonymous. His first single, early-2014's "Expectations," showcased his soulful delivery alongside layered vocal samples. Good Soldier released his debut EP, Bitter, in December 2014. As he began to win praise from outlets like BBC Radio 1 in England and KCRW in the U.S., he followed up in 2015 with singles including "Skin" and "The Hunger." A native Londoner, HUNTAR began performing live on a regular basis in late 2015, with dozens of shows across England in 2016. That year also brought new songs such as "Anyway" and "4AM," with the latter landing him on Billboard's emerging artists chart. Home of acts including Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, and Chvrches, Glassnote Records repackaged his five-track debut as BITTAR in 2016, with one song swapped out for "Hold On." HUNTAR opened 2017 with the anthemic single "Echo," also on Glassnote.
