Sandro (born Roberto Sánchez, Buenos Aires, 19 August 1945 - Mendoza, 4 January 2010) was a notorious pop singer-songwriter and occasional actor and film director from Argentina. He is very often cited as one of the first artists from Argentina to incorporate rock music and he was also the first Latin American to perform in Madison Square Garden. Sandro released 52 full-length albums and sold more than 8 million copies. His single 'Rosa, Rosa' sold more than 2 million records and became his biggest hit. In 2005, Sandro was awarded a Latin Grammy for his musical excellence throughout his career.
