Trace was a Dutch progressive rock band, founded by Rick van der Linden in 1974. Van der Linden founded the band after leaving Ekseption. The initial band consisted of one more member: Peter de Leeuwe. De Leeuwe was replaced by Pierre van der Linden who had left Focus in 1973. Rick invited Jaap van Eik to join Trace as a bassist. As of 1975, Ian Mosley (future Marillion drummer) replaced Pierre. After some more line-up changes, the band released their third and final album before they disbanded in 1978.
