With their second album Glow, Reef refused to change direction at all, even hiring Black Crowes producer George Drakoulias to work on the record. While Glow is essentially the same batch of Stones/Faces riffs and hoarse, soulful singing, it is more focused and better than its predecessor, and while it isn't particularly original, it is inspired. A handful of songs, particularly singles like "Place Your Hands" and "Consideration," are terrific, even if they are a bit too "classic" for their own good.
